Muslim Brothers are out to spread unrest in Libya

Libyan authorities are working tooth and nail to pave the way for the general elections before the end of this year.

The Libyans pin a lot of hope on the elections to end rampant unrest in their country and the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood militias, especially in western Libya and capital Tripoli.

Nevertheless, the militias seem to be putting themselves in order again by forming new alliances and also sowing the seeds of division across Libya.

They do this to blackmail the Libyan government and undermine its ability to hold the elections.

The same militias are making preparations to stage attacks against other armed groups in western Libya, especially in Warshefana region. This comes after the commanders of these armed groups threatened to stage attacks.

This potential violence will violate the ceasefire hammered out in western Libya earlier.

The Muslim Brotherhood militias have recently formed several alliances to legitimize their presence. The militia commanders are now looking for a role in the upcoming political process.

Divisions and conflicts keep raging on in al-Zawiya where armed groups are mobilized to confront rival militias, especially the militia affiliated with Muammar al-Dhawi.

Al-Dhawi mobilizes his forces in Warshafana where clashes erupted on July 30 between fighters from the so-called 'Central Support Apparatus' and others affiliated with the so-called 'Stability Support Agency'.

Meanwhile, Ajilat City, which is located in the northwestern part of Jufra Plain, witnessed violent clashes in mid-June between an armed group affiliated with Muhammad Salem Bahrun, and another group affiliated with Muhammad Baraka who is loyal to the stability support apparatus.

The clashes resulted in the killing of a number of gunmen. They also caused material losses and reprisals, including the burning of some houses.
