Teachers step up their shows of anger across Iran
Protests by teachers in Iranian cities continue to rage on against the deteriorating living conditions of the teachers and their low income.
The demonstrations are taking place
in almost all Iranian cities without exception.
The teachers raise several demands,
including approving and strictly implementing the list of teachers' ranks, and
amending the salaries of all jobs on the basis of justice, especially pension
equivalency.
The teachers also demand an accurate
and complete implementation of article no. 30 of the constitution with regard
to free education.
Support
The National Council of Resistance
of Iran announced support for teachers throughout Iran.
It called on all citizens,
especially school and university students, to support the teachers as well.
The council also called on all professional
unions and the union of the nation's teachers to condemn discrimination against
and the suppression of teachers and educators and support their demands.
The free teachers rising up across
Iran chant slogans, such as 'Teacher are ready to die for their dignity' and
'teachers do not accept humiliation', according to Maryam Rajavi, the leader of
the Iranian resistance.
"Never has a people in the
world witnessed so much injustice," she said.
Rajavi added in a statement last
December that the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and
the country's president, Ibrahim Raisi, threaten to use a 'terrorist government'
in suppressing the demonstrations of the teachers.
She accused the mullahs and the
government of squandering the Iranian people's money on the making of bombs,
missiles and drones.
"While they do this, they keep
the teachers and the rest of the people under the poverty line," Rajavi
said.
