General Commander of the Libyan armed forces, Marshal Khalifa Hafter, issued instructions to the army elements to head to the Libyan south.

According to the decision issued by Hafter and circulated by Libyan media, the instructions were made explicit to the commander of the Special Forces (the entire unit), the commander of the 10th Brigade (infantry battalion) and the commander of the 21st Infantry Battalion, to join the Southern Operations Group.

Brigadier Ahmed al-Mesmari, a spokesman for the Libyan army, said in a press statement that the Libyan National Army troops continue their military operations against the crime gangs in the south of the country, which has taken full control of the area of Mirezek in southwestern Libya, and expelled some families from the region.

Al-Massmari revealed that the Libyan army is coordinating with the countries of Chad and Niger to carry out military operations against the opposition groups in the south of the country and that the operations have begun to clear the Libyan south from the gangs' grip.

"The State of Qatar supports the Chadian armed groups in southern Libya because it wants the chaos in the Libyan territory to continue so that it can take over and control the Libyan oil," said Said al-Lundi, an international relations expert. "The army is moving south to prevent the implementation of these plans.
