Gustavo Schulz supports 600 global Music therapists through a free online course
To motivate and provide
conditions for future researchers in music therapy, the international Music
therapist, researcher and Associate Professor in Aalborg University, Denmark, Gustavo
Schulz Gattino start to carry out free online courses on research in music
therapy.
“Today I had the biggest
challenge to date in my career: running training for 581 participants from 50
different countries (between synchronous and asynchronous participants). The
theme was Foundations of Music Therapy Assessment! Thank you” Gattino tweeted
today.
In turn, Dr. Ghada Abdel Rahim
praised the great effort that Dr. Gattino makes in this free course, which
allowed those interested in music therapy around the world to participate and
benefit from his experiences.
Dr. Ghada expressed her strong desire to enrich the Arabic library with a translation of Dr. Gattino's book (Essentials of Music Therapy Assessment), for the Egyptian and Arab researchers.
About 600 specialists in music
therapy from more than 50 different countries participated in the course, which
started its activities today.
It is worth mentioning that Dr.
Ghada Abdel Rahim is considered one of the first specialists in this field in
Egypt.
Music therapy is an
evidence-based tool that has been shown to be effective in supporting health
care workers experiencing compassion fatigue and burnout.
It can also promote positive
changes in mood, increase a sense of control, lower blood pressure, reduce
heart rate, relax muscle tension, and build resiliency.
