“COP27 is of particular importance, because of the issue of 'losses and profits' which has been on the agenda of this year's conference," Pakistani climate activist Rizwan Abdul Qadir said.

The activist pointed out the importance of this issue for countries facing the risks of climate change; Pakistan has suffered a catastrophic flood, so we need to look seriously at this issue and we are very hopeful that this conference can come up with better solutions.

She added that the Egyptian governmental organizations and other organizers entrusted with organizing the event did a great job, from managing transportation to managing sessions and helping inside the conference.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Bawaba News, the Pakistani activist pointed out an important matter to solve the climate crisis, which is to prevent the use of single-use plastics, as well as the donation that must be provided by developed countries to developing countries so that they can combat and overcome climate change.

We also need to bring greenhouse gas emissions to zero, and everyone has a role to play. We must change our consumption habits and pressure leaders and politicians to move quickly to a low-carbon world.

Rizwan Abdel Qader said climate change is a reality. The damages of climate change must be mitigated, and the international community must bear responsibility and extend a helping hand to confront climate change.

The major countries that were the cause of this phenomenon must fulfill their financial pledges to developing countries that have been affected by climate change.
