Egyptian presidency of COP27 keen on helping parties to reach consensus, FM, Shoukry to John Kerry
The president-designate of the
2022 UN Climate Change Conference, COP27, Sameh Shoukry conferred with Special
Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry on all framework aspects of climate
especially ongoing discussions at the conference, official negotiations among
various countries, along with other events held on the fringe of the
conference.
Kerry voiced happiness over
taking part in various events of COP27, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu
Zeid adding, that the meeting took up the US situation regarding items tabled
on the agenda of the conference.
For his part, Shoukry asserted
the Egyptian presidency's keenness on reaching the necessary consensus on
various issues in a way that guarantees enhancing countries' ability to support
the international climate plan of action, added the spokesman.
The Egyptian top diplomat also
noted that the Egyptian presidency of COP27 is pleased with the positive
atmosphere among delegations to the conference and the common resolve for
reaching understandings and consensus regarding the items tabled on the agenda.
He affirmed his keenness on
listening to all participating parties with the aim of crystallizing a common
stand that strengthens climate action.
