Military Strike on Iran's Space Research Center
Israel is believed to have carried out its first military
strike on Iran since the return of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, using
drones to attack a factory.
Iranian officials claimed the air defenses fended off the
attack, but social media videos show a large explosion at the site.
Israeli officials have not commented on the attack, but
strikes on Iran have been a hallmark of Netanyahu’s previous terms in office.
Iran's foreign minister stated that such actions cannot
impact their determination for peaceful nuclear progress. The strike took place
just before US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Israel and the
occupied Palestinian territories, during the worst unrest between Israelis and
Palestinians in years.
Before Blinken's arrival, Netanyahu encouraged Israelis to
arm themselves and promised to expedite the issuing of weapons permits.
