El-Sissi’s Egypt Hosts Historic Meeting between Palestinian President Abbas and King Abdullah II of Jordan

In a historic meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah II of Jordan in Cairo, both leaders have pledged to strengthen ties and cooperation in efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Palestinian territories.

The meeting, held at the presidential palace in Cairo and attended by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, focused on finding a solution to the long-standing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians and maintaining stability in the region.

During the meeting, President Abbas emphasized the importance of continued support from Jordan, stating, "The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has always been a true friend and ally to the Palestinian people."

 

King Abdullah II expressed similar sentiments, highlighting the need for unity among Arab nations in the face of ongoing challenges. He stated, "We must work together to overcome the challenges facing our region and find a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue."

The meeting comes at a time of increased tensions in the region, with ongoing violence and unrest in the Palestinian territories. However, both leaders expressed optimism and determination to find a peaceful resolution, with President Abbas stating, "The Palestinian people have suffered enough and it is time for a lasting peace to be achieved."
