Arab Parliament reiterates support for Egypt, number of Arab countries in war against terrorism

The Arab Parliament has voiced full solidarity with Egypt and a number of Arab countries in their war against terrorism and terrorist organizations.

It strongly condemned the terrorist operations which targeted Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Algeria, Bahrain, Jordan and Somalia during 2018.

In a statement issued on Wednesday at the close of the third regular session of the Arab Parliament which convened at the Arab League premises, the Arab Parliament voiced its solidarity with Arab countries against terrorism and threats of terrorist groups.

It also renewed its backing for Egypt in the comprehensive operations carried out in Sinai against terrorist hideouts.

It praised the positive outcome achieved by the Egyptian Armed Forces in face of such national security challenges, commending the rapid response of the Egyptian army and security forces against perpetrators of a terrorist attack against Copts in Anba Samuel Monastery in Minya.

It also affirmed its denouncement of all forms of terrorism, lashing out at those funding terrorist organizations whether directly or indirectly.

The parliament renewed full solidarity with the Palestinian people in face of all forms of terrorism and oppression exercised against them by the Israeli occupation authority.

Also, it affirmed its backing for the Libyan people against cowardly terrorist attacks aimed at destabilizing their country and urged them to continue efforts to work out a political solution for their crisis and rebuild the state's foundations.

The statement also noted that the challenging developments in Arab countries require doubling efforts to enhance joint Arab action against terrorism and take a firm stance against any regional or international powers that might be behind schemes targeting to undermine Arab national security and the fabric of the Arab communities.
