Yellow vest protests losing support, says former French minister
A former French minister said Wednesday that the yellow vest
protesters in Paris are losing support and sympathy because of the damage and
destruction they are causing.
Some people sympathized with the protesters at first, Jacques
Godfrain, the former French cooperation minister said. They are, however, now
losing support because of the sabotage they are causing.
He said some people had started accusing French citizens of
setting their own properties on fire.
Godfrain added at
a conference in French capital Paris on similarities and differences
between the yellow vest protests in France and the Arab Spring protests in the
Arab world that most of the protests took place at one of the squares of the
northeastern French city of Strasbourg.
