AOI head: We harness all potential to serve African continent
Head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization
(AOI) Abdel Moneim al Taras on Thursday asserted the importance of cementing
cooperation among African states.
This comes as part of President Abdel Fattah El
Sisi's directives to open up new horizons of cooperation and integration with
African countries to achieve the aspirations of African peoples, he said.
In a meeting with 40 African ambassadors and
diplomats in Cairo, al Taras said that the AOI harnesses all its technical and
technological potentials to serve the African continent.
The meeting comes as Cairo presides over the African
Union for 2019, in addition to hosting the 2019 new expanded 24-team Africa Cup
of Nations and organizing the Arab African Youth Forum in Aswan, which was
named as the capital of Africa's culture.
During the meeting, al Taras said that the AOI looks
forward to strengthening constructive cooperation with African states in the
fields of manufacturing, trade exchange, in addition to the exchange of
expertise, training, maintenance and qualifying young cadres.
Also, he said that Egypt's hosting of Africa
Investment Forum for the third year in a row in 2018 is strong evidence of its
commitment to enhancing teamwork among African countries to bring about
sustainable development, increase economic growth rates and lure further
investments.
For his part, Cameron's Ambassador in Cairo
Mohamadou Labarang expressed his appreciation of Cairo's leading role in the
African continent, saying the meeting gives a strong impetus for supporting
Egyptian-African cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the African delegation
inspected a number of production lines and manufacturing capabilities at the
AOI's electronics factory and the Arab American Vehicles company.
