Signs of Houthi attack on Lahij base in Yemen

Six members of the Yemeni army were killed and 31 conscripts, including six military commanders, were wounded Thursday when al-Houthi militia targeted a military parade at the Al-Anad military base north of Lahj province with a drone.  For his part, the leader of the General People's Congress Party, Kamel al-Khoudani said, “The targeting of the military parade at Al-Anad base in Lahij emphasizes that there is a military decision and no other. This is not just a farce and nonsense.”   Khodani said in a special statement to the Reference, “Every day passes without a military solution developing Houthi capabilities and achieving victories even if they are just at the level of the the media. And therefore Houthis are losing legitimacy and expanding the circle of people's anger on them.”   Al-Houthi militia launched an attack on Al-Anad base to make many gains, notably a major media victory by targeting the Yemeni military base in the military parade, a victory that helps them reload the morale of their fighters after their losses on several fronts.  "The second objective is to confuse the leaders of the legitimacy, and send a message to the fighters in the ranks of legitimacy that they are fighting the wrong side in an attempt to defeat the Yemeni army psychologically.   The Yemeni politician explained that the Houthi militia, also aimed behind the operation of the base of the Anad, to confirm that they still exist and have penetrated the army, which means that they also infiltrated legitimacy.

   The Yemeni politician stressed that the Houthis in their attack on the base of the Anad confirms the end of the political track and return to the path of military resolve to end the rule by the Houthi militia in Sanaa and cities under their control.  While Information Minister Muammar al-Iryani called on the international community to take a decisive position on the futility of the Huthi militia and exert enough pressure to force it to implement the Stockholm agreement.   "The delegation of the coup militia in the Hodeidah Ceasefire Monitoring Committee refuses to move one kilometer from the city under shaky pretexts. The Yemeni people and the legitimate government, with the support of the coalition, are capable of continuing to liberate the country and put an end to the humanitarian situation," he told Saba news agency.”   The Minister of Information added that "the picture is very clear to the United Nations and the Secretary-General's envoy to Yemen, the Monitoring Team and the international community on the party that obstructs peace and causes the continuation of human suffering”.  He pointed out that there is no value for the observers in Hodeidah unless they force the Houthi militia to implement the Swedish agreement, especially the part related to Hodeidah and its ports, because the problem was not the lack of observers but the militia's refusal to abide by the agreement.
