AU executive council meetings to kick off Thursday ahead of 32nd summit

Meetings of the executive council for the foreign
ministers of the African Union (AU) will kick off in Addis Ababa on Thursday in
preparation for the 32nd African summit to be held on February 10-11.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will receive the AU
chairmanship during the summit.
At their meetings, the top diplomats will discuss
key issues related to peace and security in Africa, topped by the conditions in
Libya, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, a diplomatic source of the
AU told MENA.
They will mull also a report on the 37th session of
the committee of the permanent representatives, which was held on January
15-16, added the source.
Reports of other sub-committees will be also
tendered at the meetings.
