Residents in the areas controlled by the Houthi militia have tough times with the militia stepping up the killing of tribal chieftains in these areas.

This is coming as a surprise to some people given the fact that most of the tribal chieftains cooperated with the Houthis when they overtook the rule of Yemen and captured most of its cities.

Violations committed by the Houthis against the tribes in most of the areas of Yemen increased the wedge between the militia and the tribes. This should be used by the legitimate Yemeni government which is also working to win the hearts of the Yemeni people.

The Houthis move ahead with the killing of most chieftains in most strategic areas in Yemen with the aim of fully controlling these areas, given the influence the chieftains have there.

The most recent physical liquidation was the killing of one of the most prominent allies of al-Houthi militia and tribal elders, Sheikh Mujahid Qaid Qeshira al-Ghuli, on Sunday (July 21st) in al-Qafla district, north-west of Amran, after he fought with al-Houthi militants, resulting in many deaths and injuries, including leaders.

The Houthi militia, after killing and representing his body in the Directorate of Rida, harassed a number of members of his family and detonated their house, deliberately documenting and photographing the process of representation and prayer, directing insults to the body, and chanting the sectarian cry before publishing the recorded passages on the sites.

In the same province, the militia distributed the scene of his killing and his body was taken to the streets before a group of militiamen rode the body with feet and rifle butts in an incident not seen in Yemen.

On July 13, al-Houthi militia killed tribal sheikh Sultan Muhammad al-Waruri in al-Qafla district, northwest of Amran governorate. This led to the eruption of the anger of the tribes of Atar and al-Qutla against the Houthi militia.

Sheikh Sultan al-Waruri was one of the first to fight with the Houthis in Saada province. He also participated in several fronts in the governorates of al-Jawf, Marib and Hodeidah.

After the assassination of al-Waruri, the commander of the Political Security, a prominent leader of the militia and one of the Sufian tribesmen, was also killed.

Late last May, the city of the liquidation of Brigadier Abdul Qader Sufyan, appointed by the militia Houthi as an agent of the province of Ibb, by the militia is considered to have contributed to enable them to seize the province.

In early April, the Houthi militia assassinated Sheikh al-Qabli Ahmad Salem al-Sakani, a member of the local council of the Rida district of Amran governorate, in the Sour area, east of the capital, Sana'a.

The Houthi militia also imposed an atmosphere of tension and intimidation, especially with the militias issuing a death sentence against Sheikh al-Tuhami, Ali bin Ali al-Qawzi, the sheikh of the clans of Salil tribes north of Hudaydah, which includes the directorates of sniper, and Zaidiyah.

Many tribal figures, sheikhs, members of local councils and ex-military officers have been reluctant to leave their homes in a manner similar to house arrest along with arrests and fabrications of treason charges and other attacks by Houthi militia supervisors and leaders, as well as fear of assassination and liquidation.
