Al-Islah’s suspicious schemes to control Yemeni southern provinces
Al-Islah Party, the political arm of
the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, has added fuel to the flames of a battle that
sparked in the Shabwah province, with a military support from Ma’rib, for being
considered a fateful confrontation against the Southern Transitional Council.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting the
Houthis in Yemen said a joint committee was formed by Saudi Arabia and the
United Arab Emirates to stabilize a ceasefire in the Yemeni provinces of
Shabwah and Abyan.
In a joint statement, the governments
of Saudi Arabia and the UAE urged all parties to cooperate with the joint
committee to achieve disengagement and redeployment of troops as part of the
coalition's military efforts.
There were reports that the Muslim
Brotherhood sent reinforcements from Ma’rib to Shabwa, which suffers rage among
its social components, as the Qatari money entered the line through financing
the movements of Chairman of the People’s Assembly of the Sons of Shabwa, Ahmed
Musaed Hussein, the one responsible for the worsening of the situation in
Shabwa.
The tribes of Ma’rib issued a
statement on Thursday in which they attacked Al-Islah party for sparking more
wars and sacrificing the sons of Ma’rib and other governorates in battles
against the south.
The tribes of Ma’rib stressed that
the real battle is against the Houthi militias and that there is no point in
creating any new battles in the south, demanding the Saudi-led Arab Coalition
to end interfere and end the chaotic war that Al-Islah party has ignited in
Shabwah.
Qatar continues to support the Muslim
Brotherhood camps in Marib, which receive hundreds of their members, as well as
non-Yemeni Muslim Brotherhood members, in order to form multiple militias to
serve the Qatari-Turkish scheme in Yemen and the region.
Members of the Muslim Brotherhood
army in Yemen consists of members of Al-Islah party, who significantly
infiltrated the national army, including Al-Ahmar family, which has extensive
links with Qatar and Turkey.
Muslim Brotherhood member Hamid
al-Ahmar is constantly moving between Ankara and Doha, and he is one of the
biggest supporters for Al-Islah.
The Muslim Brotherhood has a camp in
Al-Abu Gabara valley, which links Ma’rib with Sa'dah and is considered one of
the most secure passages for the terrorist group, which is being supervised
directly by Abdul Majeed al-Zindani, one of the top Muslim Brotherhood leaders
in Yemen.
Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Ma’rib
have been marginalizing all military commanders who do not belong to Al-Islah
party and replacing them with Muslim Brotherhood members, converting the Yemeni
army in the governorate into a terrorist militia.
The governorate of Ma’rib has turned
into a Muslim Brotherhood province since the terrorist group seized control
over it in April 2012 and utilized it to serve the brotherhood’s economic,
political and military goals.
Ma’rib, which is approximately 17,405
square kilometres , was chosen by the brotherhood for its many oil deposits and
natural resources.
Yemeni politician Kamel al-Khodani
told The Reference in an interview that the Muslim Brotherhood is seeking to
convert Ma’rib into its emirate in Yemen, according to a project that splits
the country into six regions.
He affirmed that the Muslim
Brotherhood, with the support of Qatar and coordination with the Houthi
militias, is seeking to control Yemen and establish its authority by presenting
Ma’rib as the oasis of peace, economy and prosperity in Yemen.
He further added that Muslim
Brotherhood leaders have managed to exclude a wide range of employees in local
authorities and security apparatuses and replace them with loyal Muslim
Brotherhood members.
Khodani also said the Muslim
Brotherhood in Yemen, led by Ma’rib Governor Sultan Alaradah, has been trying
to seize authority in the governorate, warning that Al-Islah has received
millions of dollars as revenues of oil and gas projects to serve the
brotherhood’s scheme.
Documents by the Arab Coalition have
exposed the involvement of Yemeni Defense Minister Major General Muhammad Ali
al-Maqdashi in the recruitment of under 15-year-old children in the military
and security groups. Moreover, most of the Muslim Brotherhood members left poor
governorates and moved to Ma’rib for lands and jobs, while the rest of Yemeni
people are suffering the scourge of war and Houthi crimes.
The Yemeni politician has called upon
the legitimate government and the Arab coalition to pay attention for the
Muslim Brotherhood schemes which would threaten the stability of Yemen and Gulf
countries, especially that they are compatible with Qatari endeavors to target
Yemen and its Gulf neighbors.
