Iran's man in Yemen
The Houthi militia appointed an ambassador in Iran on August 11, in what amounted to an Iranian recognition of the militia.
This decision followed a visit to Tehran by a Houthi delegation.
The Houthi ambassador in Tehran, Ali Ibrahim Mohamed al-Dulaimi, was a
member of the Houthi politburo and a founding member of the Houthi al-Massera
channel. He is the media mastermind of the militia.
Al-Dulaimi is a staunch defender of Iranian policies in the region. He
met Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei along with several Iranian officials.
He always attacks Saudi Arabia and the United States.
The Houthi ambassador also has strong ties with Hezbollah and its media
institutions, including al-Manar TV. He received training at the studios of the
Hezbollah TV and established strong contacts with Hezbollah leader.
This made him a favorite of the Revolutionary Guard Corpse and the
Iranian regime.
Al-Dulaimi's origins can be found in Iran, according to former Houthi
senior member Abdel Nasser al-Uzli.
He joined the Houthi militia early on in his life. He masterminded the
creation of the Houthi media machine as well as its policies.
This man also enjoys strong relations with the Qatari regime which
offered support for al-Massera channel. He held a secret meeting with senior
Qatari officials to formulate a media campaign against the Arab coalition in
Yemen.
In Doha, al-Dulaimi met former Israeli Knesset member Azmi Bishara and
the head of al-Jazeera channel Ahmed al-Sacotri with the aim of drawing up the
media strategy of the Houthi militia.
