Yemeni army forces, backed by the Giants Brigades and the Popular Resistance, have made major victories over the Iran-backed Houthi militia on various fronts in Marib province in the past period.

Meanwhile, an independent Yemeni human rights observatory has revealed that about 78 people were killed and injured in the explosion of mines planted by the Houthis before their defeat in three districts in Shabwah province and Harib district in Marib.

The Yemeni Landmine Observatory said it had surveyed 38 civilian and military deaths, and the injury of more than 50 people, as a result of the heavy mines planted by the Houthis in the districts of Bayhan, Usaylan, and Ain in Shabwah.

It added that the Houthis had also planted mines in Harib district in Marib in January.

Efforts

The engineering teams of the Saudi project to clear Yemeni territories of mines and the National Mine Program maintain their operations in clearing areas and directorates that were recently liberated in Shabwah province.

The two entities also do the same in Harib district in Marib.

The Houthis were expelled from these areas by the Giants Brigades which received support from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen.

The national program for the clearing of mines warned locals earlier against approaching suspicious areas before they are cleared.

It said it would reopen roads after clearing them of the mines planted by the Houthis on them.

The project also pointed out that the Houthi militia extensively and indiscriminately planted mines and explosive devices, calling on the displaced not to return to their homes before clearing the roads of Houthi mines.
