A Twitter account associated with the propaganda arm of the Iranian regime has been suspended after showing an animation in which a small armed robot tries to assassinate Donald Trump.

In the video, which comes from the website of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the robot stalks Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida resort and residence. It was tweeted by @khameneisite, an account associated with Khamenei.

In it the robot bursts under a fence and focuses a laser beam on a character that appears to be Trump playing golf. The video is entitled “Revenge is Definite” and refers to General Qasem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s Quds Force who was killed two years ago in a drone strike at Baghdad airport ordered by Trump.

“Soleimani’s murderer and the one who gave the order will pay the price,” a message on the screen says.

The anniversary of Soleimani’s death on January 3 was marked by a rise in threats on social media, including on Twitter, which said that banning @khameneisite was permanent. However, critics say that banning Trump, who was taken off the site after the Capitol riots, but allowing a voice to some of the regime’s leading figures, including the supreme leader, is contradictory.
