Ali commends UAE position on Libya
Egyptian Member of Parliament and the Director of the Center for Middle East Studies in Paris, Abdel Rahim Ali, praised the position of the United Arab Emirates on developments in Libya.
This position, he said, goes hand in hand with the Egyptian position on
the situation inside the North African country.
Ali commended UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash,
for highlighting his country's policy of favoring a political settlement to the
conflict in Libya and the need for kicking Turkey-backed militias out of the
country.
Qargash's expression of UAE concern over regional interference in Libyan
affairs and the flow of terrorists and mercenaries into Libya copies the Egyptian
position on Libya, Ali said in a statement today.
He called on the international community to act quickly to stop the
travel of terrorists loyal to Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to
Libya.
Erdogan, he said, is sending mercenaries, not regular army troops, to
Libya for fear of the Turkish opposition.
He accused Qatar of bankrolling Turkish interference in Libya, including
the sending of mercenaries to the Arab state.
History will not have mercy on the international community which stands
on the fence now and watches two terrorists, namely Erdogan and Qatari emir,
Tamim bin Hamad, doing whatever they want freely, Ali said.
A day will come when the two men will be tried by the International
Criminal Court for destroying Arab countries and killing their peoples, he
added.
