Saada airstrike legitimate military action

Saudi Permanent Representative to the UN Abdullah
al-Maallami has asserted that a recent Saudi-led Arab coalition airstrike in
Saada of Yemen was a legitimate military action that was conducted in line with
the international humanitarian law.
The diplomat presented on Saturday a message to that
effect to UN Security Council chair Karen Pierce and UN chief Anotnio Guterres,
the Saudi Press Agency reported.
He said that the raid on August 9 in Saada targeted
Houthi leaders responsible for recruiting and training children and then
sending them to battlefields.
The action, however, has been referred to a joint
panel for investigation, said the diplomat, adding that the team will announce
their results once the probe is accomplished.
He reiterated condemnation for what he termed
"the UNSC inaction" toward violations of its Yemen-related
resolutions including an arms embargo.
