Teachers would lead the change ,says minister of education

August 2018: Education Minister Tarek Shawki stressed on Sunday that teachers,
who joined the current education development project, are the leaders of change
as they are the cornerstone of the new educational system to be applicable as
of September 22.
The program
aims at honing students' skills of understanding and knowledge rather than
memorization and dictation.
We are in a
race against time to apply the new educational system and provide a
distinguished educational service through teachers with creative thinking, the
minister said while touring training halls at Teachers' Academy.
This is just
the start, Shawki said, adding that teachers' training will continue all
through the year to train teachers on a new philosophy; discovery, learning and
application, to help students gain certain skills away from memorization and
dictation.
He lauded
the role of the Curriculum Development Center tasked with outlining school
curricula with the help of Egyptian experts to develop curricula based on
comprehension rather than memorization
