Macaron visits Cairo in conjunction with Egypt's take over of the presidency of the African Union

French President Emmanuel Macaron confirmed that he will visit Cairo in the next months, coinciding with Egypt's take over of the presidency of the African Union.
"I will have the opportunity to visit Cairo in the next months, at a time when Egypt will take over the presidency of the African Union," President Macaron said in his address to the annual conference of French ambassadors at the Elysee Palace.
He pointed to the role of his country in the accession of Egypt and Germany to the small group on Syria, which will hold in September a new ministerial meeting with the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
Pointing out that France was the first to propose a convergence of the situations of Western and Arab countries on one hand and the three countries guarantors of Astana's path on the other.
A summit on the Mediterranean was also announced at the beginning of the summer of 2019 in Marseilles in southeast France to discuss Mediterranean politics, ten years after the launch of the Union for the Mediterranean.
He said that this summit will provide an opportunity for discussion on youth, transfer and exchanges between the two shores of the Mediterranean, describing the policy of the Mediterranean as indispensable and will be different and will include all civil societies.
Since his arrival at the Elysee Palace,
President Macaron has visited North Africa's countries of Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.
