Nigeria buys $ 1 billion arms to fight Boko Haram

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday approved the
release of $1 billion for the procurement of equipment to fight against Boko Haram.
Dan-Ali who indicated that $1
billion was approved for the procurement of the equipment while briefing State
House correspondents after the meeting, said the insecurity in Taraba, Zamfara
and other states was also discussed.
Buhari called on the leaders of the Nigerian armed
forces to step up their efforts to try to free the student Lea Shribo, one of
the schools in Dabchi, northern Nigeria, who is still being kidnapped by Boko
Haram for refusing to abandon Christianity.
