Qatar Charity infiltrating Europe from Kosovo
The Qatari regime uses Qatar Charity in gaining ground in the countries of the Balkans. The charity especially operates in Kosovo whose situation is so sensitive for European governments.
This
Qatari organization uses charity to gain political ground and then use this to
serve its own agenda.
On
June 28, Qatar Charity donated $300,000 for the health sector in Kosovo to help
the sector meet the challenges posed by Covid-19.
The
charity also signed an agreement with the Health Ministry for the delivery of
medical aid to Kosovo.
At
the public level, Qatar used the Covid-19 crisis in delivering aid to ordinary
people in Kosovo. This threw light on Doha's plans to reach the grassroots in
this country.
Gaining ground
Qatar
Charity opened its branch in Kosovo in 2002. This is one of the largest
branches of the Qatari organization in the world. The charity invested $68
million in the construction of this branch.
The
charity claims on its website that it gets its funding from donations. It asks
wealthy Muslims to donate money so that the charity can offer help to poor
Muslims around the world.
The
charity specifies a portion of its spending to the construction of centers and
educational and cultural institutes in Kosovo. It specifies for this almost
double the amount of money it allocates for the health sector in Kosovo, for
example.
Dangers
Qatar
Charity's activities in Kosovo raise questions on the reasons behind the
operations of the Qatari organization in this restive European country.
The
charity allocates to the cultural sector in Kosovo twice the amount of money it
specifies for other sectors.
Kosovo
is badly in need of medical aid, given the enormity of the Covid-19 challenge
in it.
