Qatar abandons Iran..Doha cooperates with GCC to extend the arms embargo on Tehran

The Iranian website "Muhajiran" revealed a
resounding surprise that Qatar abandoned Iran in Qatar, the issue of calls by
the Gulf Cooperation Council to extend the arms embargo on Tehran.
The Iranian site said that Doha is secretly
cooperating with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to extend the
arms embargo on Iran, which has raised many questions about Iranian-Qatari
relations, especially since relations between Tehran and Doha are always
characterized by strength and cooperation in a number of areas and regional and
international issues.
According to "Muhajiran," the
Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Al-Hajraf, had sent a
letter to the UN Security Council calling for an extension of the arms embargo
imposed on Iran, which ends on October 18th.
Al-Hajraf was quoted as saying that Iran is
spreading weapons throughout the region as an integral part of its
authoritarian branching policy and its long-term interference in the internal
affairs of Arab countries, including the countries of the Gulf Cooperation
Council, and this is a clear violation of the United Nations Charter.
The UN Security Council imposed sanctions on Iran in
several resolutions 13 years ago regarding armament. But after the issuance of
UN Security Council Resolution No. 2231, the Security Council announced that
the sanctions would end on October 18 of this year, which makes the arms
embargo on Iran necessary and Tehran must stop its destabilizing activities in
the region and stop supplying weapons to terrorist and sectarian organizations.
.
The US government has said that if Iran’s arms
sanctions are not renewed, it will resort to a “trigger mechanism” that leads
to the re-imposition of all UN sanctions against Iran.
The United States recently launched a campaign to
prevent the arms embargo from expiring, and is seeking to prevent the use of
veto power over a resolution by Russia and China.
