German media applauding UAE-Israel deal

An agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to normalize their relations for the first time will boost the chances of peace in the Middle East region.
This
is probably why political parties and the media in Germany welcomed the deal
strongly.
The
same parties and media described it as a "historic move" that makes
peace in a region full of unrest.
One
international government after another is coming out to voice out support to
the deal since it was unveiled by U.S. President Donald Trump on August 13.
The
UAE played a key role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people since
the founding of the Gulf state.
It
pushed for giving the Palestinians their rights, depending on a realistic
policy that is far away from the megaphone diplomacy followed by some countries.
The
weekly German magazine, Der Spiegel, described the Israel-UAE deal as a major
diplomatic breakthrough.
The
magazine threw light on the success of the deal in convincing Israel to suspend
the annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank.
The
deal, the magazine said, is also an achievement for U.S. President Donald Trump
who prepares for presidential elections in November.
"This foreign policy
success boosts Mr. Trump's reelection chances," Der Spiegel said.
The
free-to-air German television news channel, N-TV, said the deal is a historical
transition.
The
channel added that the deal between the UAE and Israel paves the road for peace
in the Middle East region.
It
also opens the door for concentrating efforts on countering the Iranian threat
for regional states, the channel said.
The
weekly news magazine, Stern, said the deal was a long time overdue.
It
added that the deal opens the door for peace in the Middle East region.
