Austria rising up against Muslim Brotherhood presence
A number of Austrian writers and intellectuals have called on their country's government to take action against the charities and organizations operated by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Austrian Integration Minister Susanna Raab announced the
founding of a new center for the documentation of political Islam. The center,
she said, would be similar to another one founded earlier to document the Far
Right.
The Austrian government has specified a budget of half a
million Euros for the new center. It will work to supervise the actions of the
members of the Muslim Brotherhood.
More dangerous than ISIS
One of the writers submitting the request for the Austrian
government to take action against the Muslim Brotherhood cited Qatari support
to this organization.
This support, he said, aims to destabilize Austria and
other European states.
The Austrian state news agency published an article for the
same writer, in which he said the new political Islam documentation center is a
long time overdue.
He said the Muslim Brotherhood is even more dangerous than
the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The Muslim Brotherhood works secretly, the writer said in
his article. They show abidance by the law, but keep their real objectives
secret.
He accused the Muslim Brotherhood of working to undermine
Austria's democratic system in the long run.
Muslim Brotherhood theoretician, Youssef al-Qaradawi, has a
strong following in Austria thanks to the organizations affiliated to the
Muslim Brotherhood, the writer said.
He called on the Austrian government to take strong action
against the organizations and the leaders of the Muslim brotherhood with the
aim of keeping the lid on the dangers posed by this group.
Qatari financing
Doha bankrolls the institutions of the Muslim Brotherhood
in Austria and Europe.
This financing aims at destabilizing European states,
according to the Austrian newspaper Volksblatt.
The newspaper described Qatari financing of the Muslim Brotherhood
as a major threat to western democracies.
Qatari funds only go to the organizations affiliated to the
Muslim Brotherhood, the newspaper said.
It added that the Muslim Brotherhood gave rise to a large
number of terrorist organizations around the world.
