Amr Helmy: US administration must confront Turkey's subversive policies

Egyptian Ambassador Amr Helmy, assistant foreign minister
for European affairs, said that Egypt has changed a lot recently.
At the Bawaba News seminar regarding foreign relations after
Joe Biden won the US presidential elections, Helmy said there is tendency that
the United States will return to the Iran nuclear deal that began in 2015, but
he stressed that the new US administration must take into account Iran's
interference in the policies of neighboring countries and how Tehran’s
practices threaten many Arab countries.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, Helmy made clear that the
most important thing is that reconciliation take place between the various
Palestinian parties. Without reconciliation, it is impossible to focus on
anything else or to make any progress in the Palestinian issue.
Meanwhile, Helmy affirmed that there must be a discussion
regarding all that Turkey has done and continues to do to terrorize the Middle
East, as well as Ankara’s use of refugees as a weapon to threaten Europe and obtain
its interests.
