Qatar using its media arms to smear UAE

Qatar has taken a hostile position towards the United Arab Emirates. It has employed its media arms, including the Qatari news channel, al-Jazeera, in launching a media war against the UAE.
Fabrications
Doha tries to spread
false news about the UAE all the time.
The latest attempt in
this regard was made by the Qatar Financial Regulatory Authority on November
24.
The authority filed
legal proceedings in New York against the Abu Dhabi First Bank. The Qatar
authority demands in the proceedings that the UAE bank repay 200 million Qatari
riyals (roughly $55 million).
The authority also
claimed that Abu Dhabi First Bank had been violating market regulations since
March 2018 by harming the Qatari currency and Qatari monetary tools.
The UAE challenged
these accusations, proving that Doha it owes nothing to Qatar. It even
described the proceedings as a new "swindling operation" by Qatari
authorities.
Claims
On September 2, Qatar
lodged a complaint at a United Nations-affiliated judicial agency, accusing the
UAE of causing harm to Qatari nationals upon the Gulf diplomatic crisis.
The Qatari regime
claims that the measures taken by the UAE after cutting off diplomatic ties
with Doha in 2017 violated United Nations regulations against racism.
The UAE countered by
proving these claims to be baseless. It added that the Qatari claims were part
of an attempt to deflect attention from its support of terrorism and terrorist
organizations.
It noted that the
measures taken against Qatar were primarily aimed at protecting its own
national security.
The UAE added that it
also took measures to ensure that Qatari nationals would not be caught in the
middle of its diplomatic row with Doha.
