US-UAE relations..A strong bond extending back to the 1970s

The US-Emirati relations are
characterized by their depth and distinction at all levels, as they began in
1971, that is, since the establishment of the United Arab Emirates.
These relations accelerated to make the United
States the third country to establish formal diplomatic relations with the
Emirates.
On March 20, 1972 was the
beginning of diplomatic relations between the two parties, where the American
envoy extraordinary and the Minister Plenipotentiary, William Stoltsfoss Jr.,
presented his credentials to the state, and he was also accredited at that time
in a number of other Arab Gulf states, and he was residing in Kuwait.
After the consolidation of the
joint relations between the two countries, the United States announced in June
1974 the establishment of its country's first embassy in the UAE capital, Abu
Dhabi, and the first resident American ambassador, Michael Edmund Stirner,
presented his credentials to the competent authorities in the country.
On the political side, the UAE
and the United States had common positions against extremism and terrorism, and
they emphasized the importance of achieving security, stability and peace, and
consecrating the principles of tolerance and coexistence in the region and the
world at large, and rejecting extremism, intolerance and violence to achieve
development that is in the interest of peoples and deepening international
cooperation.
After the consolidation of the

On the economic side, the
relationship between the two sides witnessed a great growth, as the volume of
bilateral trade between the two countries was estimated at 91.3 billion dirhams
in 2014, while the UAE is considered.
The largest trading partner of
the United States in the Middle East, with the volume of non-oil trade exchange
between the two countries reaching more than $ 27 billion, and the country is
also one of the largest importers from America in the Middle East region.
The volume of Emirati investments
in the United States amounts to more than $ 21 billion, divided between
investment in the US financial markets and direct investments in the US
economy.
Since the beginning of diplomatic
relations between the two parties, the UAE and the United States have exchanged
visits and made decisions in order to achieve world peace, and the two peoples
have had strong cultural, commercial and educational relations in various fields.
