Bahaa Ali… the terrorist who accompanied Hisham Ashmawy

Libyan security sources revealed to the “Reference”, the identity of the Egyptian terrorist “Bahaa Ali”, who arrested with Hisham Ashmawy, in Libya, on Monday.

According to Libyan sources, «Bahaa Ali» was accompanied by “Ashmawy” at the time of his arrest, which is part of the “Al Mourabitoun battalion”.

Ashmawy is a former Egyptian special forces officer wanted by Cairo for suspected Islamist militant activities.

The Libyan National Army published a picture of Ashmawy with blood on his face.

Egyptian authorities say Ashmawy heads the Ansar al-Islam network, which claimed responsibility for a deadly desert ambush against Egyptian police last October.
