Iraq accelerating crackdown on ISIS

Iraq takes serious measures on the road of eradicating terrorism.
The Iraqi government has stepped up operations against hideouts of the
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
This came after the terrorist organization claimed responsibility for a
series of terrorist attacks in recent weeks.
On April 6, Iraq and the international coalition against ISIS took a new
step against ISIS.
The US Central Command announced on Facebook the arrival of
thermographic cameras, watch towers, electricity generators and other
equipment.
United against ISIS
The Central Command said the arrival of the new equipment aims to make
the international coalition against ISIS capable of overcoming current and
future threats from ISIS.
Spokesman for Iraq's Counterterrorism Agency, Sabah al-Numan, said his
agency has acquired intelligence about the current ISIS caliph, Abu Ibahim
al-Quraishi.
He said the ISIS caliph is most likely moving between different parts in
the desert of the northwestern Anbar province.
The commanders of this terrorist organization are now under our close
watch, al-Numani said.
He added that this came after the media arm of ISIS became weak and
incapable of drawing in more recruits for the organization.
According to a previous statement by the Iraqi Media Section, the
international coalition against ISIS had staged around 133 airstrikes against
ISIS camps in mountainous areas in Mosul in northern Iraq.
Fighting ISIS
Iraq's strategy against ISIS depends on enhancing the combat
capabilities of special Iraqi troops and also benefiting from the military and
security expertise of major states.
This is especially true after the United States withdrew most of its
troops from Iraq.
The Iraqi political leadership works to unify the domestic front and
merge paramilitary brigades into the Iraqi security establishment.
It does this as it works to achieve the best results in the fight
against ISIS.
