Saudi, Pakistan vow to join hands in fight against terrorism

Saudi Arabia cooperates in the fight against terrorism with all states, including Pakistan.
The two countries vowed during the latest meeting in
Jeddah between Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime
Minister Imran Khan to enhance their cooperation in the fight against terrorism
even more in the coming period.
They signed agreements that will cement their ties and
cooperation in the fight against extremism.
Crown Prince bin Salman and Prime Minister Khan
highlighted the depth of relations between their two countries and the
importance of intensifying cooperation and coordination in all fields, the
official Saudi news agency said.
They also underscored the importance of cooperation
between Islamic states in the fight against extremism and sectarianism.
Saudi Arabia was the first country Prime Minister Khan
visited following his election in 2018. However, the two countries were not on
good terms during recent months.
Nevertheless, the latest visit to Saudi Arabia by the
Pakistani prime minister seems to have mended fences.
Officials from the two countries signed a series of
agreements and memorandums of understanding, including for financing projects
in the field of energy, infrastructure, water and communications.
The two countries also agreed to found a new council
for coordination between them.
The two countries also signed agreements in the fields
of the economy, trade, defense and security, Pakistan said in a statement.
Relations between the two countries are so close.
Around 2.5 million Pakistanis live in Saudi Arabia.
