Houthis depriving 30,000 Yemeni children of school

The Iran-backed Houthi militia continues to commit crimes against the children of Yemen, who cannot get their rights under the ongoing war in their country.
Save the Children
International accused the Houthis recently of making the education problem in
Yemen worse by depriving more than 30,000 Yemeni children of going to school,
especially in Yemeni capital Sana'a and the southwestern city of Taizz.
The organization accused the
Houthis in a statement of involvement in terrorist attacks on schools. Most of
the attacks, it said, took place in Taizz.
It noted that four schools
were attacked in the city, leaving 11 civilians, including four children dead.
Save the Children
International also accused the Houthis of attacking a school in Sana'a.
The organization added that
growing violence in Taizz had left more than 50 children dead and injured
between January and March this year.
It said attacks on schools in
this period were almost double the number of attacks staged on schools during
the third quarter of 2020.
Save the Children
International revealed that over 2 million Yemeni children are outside the
educational system, even as they are at the school age.
It added that over 2,500
educational facilities had been destroyed throughout Yemen because of the
ongoing war in the Arab country.
The organization warned
against the effect these developments would have on the education of Yemen's
children.
It even warned that these
developments pose threats to the lives of the children.
