Malki: Houthis Promoting Fake Victories to Cover up Major Losses
Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesman Brigadier General Turki al-Malki dismissed recent claims by the Iran-backed Houthi militias that they had attacked the Jazan region on the Saudi border.
In
remarks to Al Arabiya television, he said that such claims are “propaganda and
media fabrications aimed at promoting false victories” to lift the morale of
their members in wake of the major losses they are incurring.
He
added: “The Saudi armed forces and coalition forces are taking up their
defensive positions along the Saudi-Yemeni border.”
“They are supporting
the Yemeni army in their operations inside Yemen,” he continued, saying the
troops are holding some 30 kilometers of the Saada province – a Houthi
stronghold.
The
Houthis have resorted to media fabrications to cover up the real situation on
the ground, Malki went to say, citing major losses among the terrorist
militias’ ranks in the Marib and al-Jawf provinces.
He revealed
that the coalition has destroyed over 4,000 Houthi armored vehicles and over
10,000 terrorists have been killed and injured in the past six months.
