Haftar's remarks disquieting for Muslim Brotherhood
Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, has vowed to maintain the fight against terrorist groups and move ahead with completing the political process in his country.
He called on Libyans to
lay down their arms and for calm to return to the streets of the Libyan
capital.
However, the Muslim
Brotherhood is launching into criticism of Haftar, considering the remarks he
made a few days ago to be threatening to it.
Haftar made these remarks
on My 29 during a parade of his army in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.
The parade was
organization on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the launch of Haftar's
operation against terrorist groups in Libya, codenamed "Operation
Dignity".
Firm messages
Haftar said political
progress achieved in Libya so far was a direct result of the sacrifices of the
officers and the troops of the LNA.
He added that the peace
process launched in Libya was also an outcome of the operation his army
launched to free Libyan capital Tripoli from control by terrorist
organizations.
There can be no peace
with mercenaries or terrorists, Haftar said.
He said action by his
army forced the Government of National Accord to quit and made the political
process to start in Libya.
All these results would
never have been achieved if our army had not besieged the Libyan capital,
Haftar said.
He added that the same
achievements were made possible by the courage of LNA officers and soldiers.
Haftar note that his army
backs a political course to end tensions and conflicts in Libya.
