Riyadh denies reports on meeting bet. Saudi, Israeli chiefs of staff

The Saudi Defense Ministry on Wednesday denied
Israeli media reports alleging that a meeting has taken place between Saudi
military Chief of Staff Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and his Israeli
counterpart Gadi Eizenkot.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official
source at the Ministry as saying that Al-Ruwaili participated in an
international meeting for Defense Chiefs of Staff in Washington at the Andrews
Air Force Base, to discuss means of confronting violent extremist groups, with
the participation of 81 countries.
The meeting included a formal dinner for all
participants, in honor of Chairman of the US Joints Chief of Staff, Gen. Joseph
F. Dunford, the source added.
The source dismissed as unfounded the Israeli media
reports, asserting that no such bilateral meeting has ever taken place, neither
during that meeting nor elsewhere.
