Iraqi FM: We achieved victory over terrorism with int'l, Arab support

Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said that
his country has succeeded in achieving victory on terrorism.
This came in a press conference that was held on
Wednesday between Lebanese Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil and his Iraqi
counterpart.
The Iraqi foreign minister underlined that the
entire world along with the Arab countries stood by Iraq in its war against
terrorism, especially after they witnessed a unified Iraqi stance.
Both Lebanon and Iraq seek to upgrade the level of
their relations, al-Jaafari said.
He added that the Iraqi reconstruction market is now
open for all friendly countries, including Lebanon.
For his part, the Lebanese minister said that the
main reason that enabled Lebanon and Iraq to overcome extremism and Daesh
terrorist group is the great intellectual and cultural capabilities.
Bassil asserted that Lebanon and Iraq fully agree on
the importance of adopting political settlements for the regional crises,
mainly in Syria.
He also welcomed the opening of Nassib border
crossing between Jordan and Syria, saying that it represents a vital trade and
economic gate for Lebanon and Syria.
The political stability in Lebanon and Iraq will
represent a key motive for boosting the economic ties between both countries.
