Army chief of staff back home after attending int’l conf. in Washington

Egypt's Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant
General
Mohamed Farid on Friday returned home, coming from
Washington, where he participated in an international conference of Defense
Chiefs of Staff, known as the Chiefs of Defense conference.
With regard to the fight against terrorism, Egypt's
army chief of staff reviewed the results of the ongoing Comprehensive Operation
Sinai 2018.
World's military commanders discussed the US-led
coalition efforts to uproot Daesh terrorist group and the necessity for
increasing information exchange in this regard, as well as combating
transnational organized crime.
While in Washington, the Egyptian army chief of
staff met with a number of chiefs of staff participating in the conference to
discuss means of boosting military cooperation.
Also, he had talks with Chairman of the US Joints
Chief of Staff, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford and mulled ways of promoting bilateral
cooperation, in addition to the fight against terrorism and the regional
challenges, especially in light of military relations among the Armed Forces of
all countries represented in the event.
