Demonstrations in Tunisia against al-Nahda movement

Tens of Tunisians marched on Habib Bourguiba Street
in Tunis on Wednesday, against al-Nahda movement (the Muslim Brotherhood’s
branch in Tunisia).
The demonstrators call for revealing the secret body
in the movement, which led to the assassination of opposition politicians.
This demonstration comes two days after the
terrorist attack in Tunisia, in which a woman blew herself up in a police
patrol on Habib Bourguiba Street in Tunis.
Rashid al-Ghannouchi, head of al-Nahda movement,
denied any clandestine work to his group, pointing out that the movement had abandoned
its secrecy for decades.
“The Tunisians came to Habib Bourguiba Street to
reveal the secret organization of al-Nahda movement, which specializes in
assassinations and terrorism” Qais Ben Yahmad, a trade union activist, said.
He added that the Tunisian state is required to
expose the practices of the Movement, which worked through its secret service
to monitor activists and spy on Tunisians.
He also pointed out that the interior minister is
covering up the “black room” which contains documents and evidence condemning al-Nahda
movement.
Qais Ben Yahmad wondered, what authority we are
talking about and want to intervene to protect the country.
A number of activists, members of the Popular Front,
al-Watan party, and the defense of martyrs Shukri Belaid and Mohammed
al-Brahimi participated in the stand.
