A senior Kurdish leader has warned that the Syrian Democratic
Forces (SDF) would not stand idle if a possible Turkish-led offensive was
conducted on the east of Euphrates River.
Ankara has been threatening it will attack the
SDF-controlled region in Syria's northeast bordering Turkey.
"The situation in the self-ruling areas is a
bit tense due to the Turkish direct threats", Salih Muslim, a senior
member pf the ruling council of Syria’s northeast Kurdish areas, was quoted by
Al-Arabiya television as saying.
"The SDF are taking measures to be able to
respond to any Turkish recklessness," he added.
Hundreds of the SDF troops have already arrived in
the east of the Euphrates, near the border with Turkey.
