Cairo
– Mahmoud Yehia, member of the Parliament's African Affairs Committee, called
on Somalia for seizing civilian aircraft registered in the United Arab Emirates
with 47 UAE troops at Mogadishu international airport, noting that he
"doesn't dismiss some Qatari interference in the issue" in the
escalation of friction between the two countries.
"UAE has all the credit for the rebuilding
of Somalia on the economic and military levels. The escalation by the Somali
authorities won't benefit Somalia," Yehia told The Portal, calling on
Somalia to reconsider its position.
