OIC condemns kidnapping of students in Cameroon
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al Othaimeen, has vigorously condemned the recent
kidnapping of dozens of students including their principal from a boarding
School in the northwest of Cameroon, said OIC in a statement.
The Secretary General who stressed the importance of
youth education insisted that there was no excuse whatsoever for this criminal
action. Dr. Yousef conveyed his profound sympathy and that of the entire OIC
Member States to the families of the victims, the Government and people of
Cameroon over this distressing incident perpetrated by terrorists.
The Secretary General while reiterating the
principled position of the OIC against terrorism restated the solidarity of the
OIC with the authorities in Cameroon in their effort to combat this heinous
phenomenon.
