A Cameroonian government spokesman announced the
release on Wednesday of 79 children who were kidnapped in southwest Cameroon
two days ago.
The official was quoted by Radio France
Internationale as saying that the kidnappers are still holding three
supervisors who were with the children.
The school students, all boys, were kidnapped from a
boarding school with three others, including the principal, early on Monday
morning in Bamenda, the capital of the North-West region.
