Yemeni president appoints new defense minister, chief of staff

Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi appointed
Mohammed al Maqdishi as defense minister and Abdullah al Nakhie as new chief of
staff, Yemen’s SABA news agency reported on Wednesday.
It said Nakhie was promoted to the rank of
lieutenant general.
Hadi also appointed General Taher Ali al Oqaili as
adviser to the supreme commander of the Armed Forces and Ahmed Salim Rabie as
governor of Aden.
