16 Taliban fighters killed during joint operation between Afghan, foreign forces

At least 16 armed Taliban insurgents were killed
during a joint operation between Afghan forces and foreign forces in Baghlan
province, Tolo News quoted local officials as saying on Thursday.
According to Baghlan police chief Akramuddin Sare
the offensive was conducted in Dand-e-Ghori area of Baghlan province over the
past four days and involved both ground and air operations.
During the operation at least 19 other Taliban
insurgents were wounded, Sare said.
He said that during the operation several villages
had been cleared of Taliban insurgents and weapons belonging to the Taliban
were seized by the forces.
No details were provided on whether there had been
any military or civilian casualties.
