PM: Cash support in Takaful and Karama program to be limited to 2 children per family
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday announced that
cash support in Takaful and Karama cash transfer program will be limited to two
children per family, instead of three per family, as of January 2019.
The move is aimed at allowing more households to benefit
from such cash support, Madbouli said, pointing out that more scenarios are
being considered to rationalize in-kind support.
The premier's announcement came during the activities of the
third annual conference on Takaful and Karama social solidarity program, which
is held under the rubric (Productive social protection: "From protection
to production").
The event was attended by Investment Minister Sahar Nasr,
Education Minister Tareq Shawqi, Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat and Supply
Minister Ali Moselhy in addition to British Ambassador in Cairo Geoffrey Adams.
