The US has urged the United Nations Security Council
(UNSC) to postpone a resolution calling for a limited ceasefire in Yemen.
Washington called on the UNSC to postpone the
resolution until the launch of the peace talks which are set to be held in
Sweden in early December.
Last week, the UK put forward a resolution that
calls for an immediate truce in Yemen and the US intensified its efforts aiming
to hold talks to end the four-year long war in Yemen.
Washington said that it is currently focusing on
supporting UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths who seeks to bring together the
Yemeni government and the Houthi militias in peace talks that are set to be
launched in Sweden on December 3.
