Egyptian, Greek, Cypriot defense ministers witness Medusa 7 drills

Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed
Zaki along with his Greek and Cypriot counterparts Panos Kammenos and Savvas
Angelides respectively witnessed Wednesday the basic phase of Medusa 7 drills.
The drills, carried out by Egypt, Greece and Cyprus,
include several activities, proved the close cooperation and coordination
between the three countries.
The several-day military exercise is being conducted
west of Crete Island.
The drills include implementing marine and air
combat and reconnaissance operations, training on maritime interception skills
in addition to searching for and detecting submarines and securing naval units
against hostile aircraft through the use of different kinds of air defense
weapons.
Cadets from the Egyptian Naval Academy are
participating in the military exercise.
