UAE hails Egyptian efforts to push forward ME peace process
The United Arab Emirates on Saturday hailed regional
and international initiatives to push forward the Middle East peace process,
including efforts exerted by Egypt to achieve the Palestinian national reconciliation

Permanent Representative to the UN Saud Al Shamsi made the remarks, asserting
the UAE's continuous support for the international efforts that aim to enable
the Palestinian people to fulfill their legitimate aspirations to self-determination.
In statements quoted by WAM news agency, Shamsi
reiterated the rights of the Palestinian people in establishing their
independent state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its
capital, in accordance with International agreements, and the Arab Peace
Initiative.
He expressed concern over the deterioration of the
humanitarian and economic situation in the Palestinian territories, calling the
international community to increase humanitarian and development assistance.
He further noted the significance of enabling the
Palestinian people to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
